Ozark Mist – a short poem

A cool country morning, the mist hangs in the trees like gossamer webs.

I sip my tea while rocking in my chair on the porch.

I get a whiff of his coffee as he walks out to join me.

We sit in silence and enjoy the fresh morning air,

Sounds of bird songs fill the morning, an insect buzzes near my ear.

A deer runs in the distance, another following.

I look over and smile, I realize this is a good life.

This is our typical morning.

I am happy growing old this way.
